Dear Members of the German Bitcoin Association,
My name is Larry Terwey, and I am running for the board of our national association.
Professionally, I’ve been working in digitalization, IoT, robotics, and AI for over 25 years—including stints at Microsoft, AWS, and Accenture—and I’m currently in partner management at a robotics startup.
At its core, it’s always about the same thing: building partnerships, maintaining networks, and moving projects forward together with others.

For many years, I served as chairman of the supervisory board and a member of the executive board; I also bring experience in local politics as a city council member, county council member, and mayoral candidate. Through my career, education, and volunteer work, I have received training in psychology, systemic constellations, and nonviolent communication—all of which provide a solid foundation for working on an executive board and collaborating with a wide variety of people.
I’ve been down the Bitcoin rabbit hole since 2014, and over the past few years I’ve spent an average of several hours a day on the topic. I’ve been a guest on several podcasts, give occasional talks, and have already “orange-pilled” several hundred people—including guiding them through setting up their own wallets and beyond.

- More lobbying: The German Bitcoin Association should increase its political visibility and be recognized as a serious partner in Berlin and at the local level.
- Strong Partnerships: I build relationships with companies, associations, and political institutions, and strengthen the association’s national and international networks.
- A strong association: The association’s membership, reach, and influence should grow so that it is taken seriously as the voice of the Bitcoin community.
- A Direct Line to Politics: I want to use my experience in local politics as a city council member, county council member, and mayoral candidate to bring the community’s concerns directly to political bodies.
I bring my experience in partner management, leadership, local politics, and Bitcoin to the board. Together, we’re making the national association politically stronger, better connected, and more effective.
