Larry Terwey is the chairman of the Bitcoin Federal Association and brings many years of experience in business, leadership, networking, and local politics to the association’s work.

Professionally, he has been working in the fields of digitalization, IoT, robotics, and artificial intelligence for more than 25 years. His career has included stints at Microsoft, AWS, and Accenture, among others. Today, he works in partner management at a robotics company. A key focus of his work is establishing partnerships, maintaining networks, and collaborating on the implementation of complex projects.

In addition, Larry Terwey has extensive leadership experience as a former chairman of the supervisory board and member of the executive board. He also has experience in local politics as a city council member, county council member, and mayoral candidate.

Through his professional work, education, and volunteer activities, he also engages with psychology, systemic constellations, and nonviolent communication. He draws on these experiences particularly in his collaboration with the board of directors and in his interactions with various social and political stakeholders.

Larry Terwey has been deeply involved with Bitcoin since 2014. He has appeared as a guest on several podcasts, gives talks, and helps people get started with Bitcoin—from the basics to using their own wallet.

Key Areas of Focus at the German Bitcoin Association

A key focus of his work as chairman of the board is on raising the political profile of the Bitcoin Federal Association. The association aims to be perceived as a competent and reliable point of contact for policymakers, government agencies, and the public.

Larry Terwey would like to help expand dialogue with policymakers at the federal, state, and local levels and bring the concerns of Bitcoin companies and the Bitcoin community more fully into the policy-making process.

The Bitcoin Federal Association aims to expand its relationships with companies, associations, political institutions, and other relevant organizations, both nationally and internationally. The goal is to pool knowledge, highlight shared interests, and facilitate collaboration.

Developing a Strong and Effective Association

As chairman of the board, Larry Terwey would like to further develop the Bitcoin Federal Association both organizationally and strategically.

This includes expanding the membership base, increasing its reach, and strengthening its presence in politics, business, and the public sphere. The association aims to be recognized as a relevant voice for Bitcoin in Germany and to effectively represent its members.

Another focus is on clear collaboration within the Executive Board and on reliable structures that enable projects to be implemented efficiently.

Direct Dialogue with Politicians and the Public

Larry Terwey hopes to draw on his experience in local politics to further expand dialogue with political institutions.

The goal is to bring Bitcoin-related topics into political discussions in a factual and practical manner and to establish the Bitcoin Federal Association as a point of contact for regulatory, economic, and social issues surrounding Bitcoin.

Together with the other members of the executive board, Larry Terwey aims to make the Bitcoin Federal Association more politically visible, organizationally stronger, and better connected both nationally and internationally.
