What’s happening: Quarterly update from the Bitcoin Bundesverband
Dear members, supporters and companions,
The past quarter was characterized by structural changes, successful events and new initiatives. At the same time, it has become clear that if we really want to have an impact as an association, we need more active participation and clear responsibilities. Here we summarize for you what has happened – and how you can get involved now.
Registration as an association: Current status
Our registration as a registered association is still being clarified. The local court is refusing to register us as long as an older, no longer active association is listed in the register under the name “Bundesverband Bitcoin”. Deletion is only possible through a legal dispute, which we want to avoid. The good news is that the work of the association is legally secure and fully operational. The only disadvantage is that we are currently not allowed to use the suffix “e.V.” and the work of the board involves a little more documentation.
New management: entrepreneurial, not bureaucratic
The decision has been made to appoint a new management team. The role will start on a pro bono basis, with the aim of taking the association to the next level strategically and operationally. In the long term, the new management team will generate its own funds to finance its work, for example through membership growth and funding partnerships. One thing is clear: in order to become effective as an association, we will soon need our first full-time structures.

BTC Prague: Networking works
Our small evening event in Prague was a complete success. Fully booked, informal and supported by you – the members. The desire to hold such events on a regular basis was expressed many times. Personal networking is a key lever for impact and trust. We invite everyone to initiate local meetings or side events themselves. The association can provide support.
Bitcoin Forum Ingolstadt: Shaping visibility together
The association will have its own stand at the Bitcoin Forum in Ingolstadt in October. If you would like to help out or distribute material, please contact us. Members with their own stands are also invited to indicate that they are part of the Bitcoin Bundesverband when booking. Marketing: First steps, many unresolved issues
Initial materials have been created, including banners, texts and flyers. The aim is to provide potential members with a well-founded decision-making aid. At the same time, we urgently need more capacity for regular communication – both internally and externally. Anyone with experience in content, social media, design or newsletters is welcome to get involved.

Politics: Who gets the ball rolling?
The idea of a political committee is in place, the Board of Directors is providing intensive support, but there is currently no one person to drive it forward. The aim is to establish contacts with political decision-makers, define contacts for the media and politicians and develop a clear list of demands. Anyone with political flair and energy can achieve a great deal here.

ESG paper published – response remains internal
Our ESG paper has been prepared and distributed. It has been well received in the Bitcoin community and in the specialist media, but there has been little external feedback so far. Anyone who has contacts in the traditional media or would like to help with the follow-up is very welcome.

Bitcoin Academy: educational work with perspective
The Education Committee is currently preparing a new training format: a Bitcoin Academy in German. The aim is to create high-quality educational opportunities for employees, companies and the interested public – with a strong practical focus and orientation towards existing formats such as “Bitcoin Talents”. Anyone who would like to help shape the content or provide organizational support is invited to contact the Education Committee directly.

The association thrives on the initiative of its members. If you want to contribute your skills, you will find the right place in one of our working groups:
- Marketing and communication: content, design, newsletter, social media
- Education: Structure of the Bitcoin Academy, contents, cooperations
- Politics: finding contacts, formulating demands, shaping public opinion
- Events: organize and accompany meetups, conferences, side events
Even small contributions can make a big difference: editing texts, giving feedback, making contacts, helping with events.
