Marketing working group of the BTCBV
Vision and goals
The marketing working group strengthens the visibility of the Bitcoin Bundesverband and makes the added value of membership tangible.
We promote member growth and engagement and consistently align our work with the needs of our members.
To this end, we develop measures that make our members more visible, represent their interests and position the association as a strong voice for Bitcoin in Germany.
Our goals:
- Increase visibility: Presence in the media, at events and in digital channels.
- Involve members: Create clear opportunities for participation and promote commitment.
- Strengthening the network: Facilitate exchange between members and initiate joint projects.
- Increase the value of membership: Establish membership as a seal of quality and a resource.
The basis of our work: the 2025 member study
In 2025, the Marketing Working Group conducted a membership survey to understand what made membership of the Bitcoin Bundesverband particularly attractive, where there was room for improvement and which measures offered the greatest added value.
The survey and analysis was carried out jointly with the Marketing Working Group by UTXO Solutions.
What was particularly appreciated:
- Visibility: Public appearances, conferences and media presence also strengthened the reputation of the members.
- Political voice: Interests were represented professionally vis-à-vis politicians and authorities.
- Network: The exchange with entrepreneurs and experts was a key added value.
- Prestige & trust: Membership was regarded as a seal of quality – a visible sign of seriousness and commitment.
Concerns and challenges:
- Transparency: More clarity about what the association is working on and how decisions are made.
- Participation: Uncertainty about how and where members could specifically get involved.
- Resources: Concern that too many projects are started at the same time and therefore lose impact.
Surprising findings:
- Desire to get involved underestimated: More members than expected wanted to get actively involved.
- Events as the main driver: Trade fairs and conferences were the most important point of contact.
- Storytelling works: Personal accession stories generated significantly more response than pure facts.
Achievements to date
Since the start of the working group in May 2025, we have:
- Set up an association newsletter and integrated the sign-up form on the website.
- Organized a first event presence with a planned appearance at the Bitcoin Forum Ingolstadt (incl. stand, rollups, flyers).
- Developed a basic document for messaging and marketing materials.
- We conducted and evaluated the member survey in order to align our work on the basis of data.
- Communication formats such as open monthly member calls have been prepared.
What we are working on
Based on the results of the study and our work to date, we are currently implementing the following measures:
- Clearer onboarding: Regular onboarding calls with all participation opportunities and contact persons.
- Buddy system: Allocation of active members as buddies for new members.
- Focused event strategy: selection of events with high benefits for members, uniform professional appearance.
- Transparent communication: regular status updates via newsletter and open member call.
